So I guess the cat's out of the bag based on the title of the post, but anyways, I RODE AN ELEPHANT TODAY! We traveled an hour and a half to an elephant rehabilitation center, via bumpy roads and the closest thing to "countryside" I've seen since arriving in India. It was definitely a unique and exhilarating experience. It was a bit scary at first, as Dr. Broderick and I were the last from our group to get a ride, and I think the poor girl was getting a bit grumpy judging by her trumpeting. I wasn't anticipating the flexibility it would demand in the hips, as the diameter of their backs is huge, so it was almost like sitting in the splits, and I could feel every step she took, as I was sitting directly above her shoulders. I had a fantastic time, and was shocked that it only cost 1000 rupees, the equivalent of 15 U.S. dollars! After we got back, we went to ZamZams for lunch and ice cream, and then to Pothys, my favorite department store, to do some clothes and grocery shopping. I anticipate a nice relaxing evening and possibly a movie night later, but we'll see what happens! Thanks for reading :)
